1 & 2 Peter

These two books are also part of Paul's letter collection. The focus of these letters are on praising God and realizing how special it is to be a Christian. 1 Peter 1: 6-7 exemplifies this point by stating..."In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." Paul writes these letters from prison, and yet still sees that the focus is on revealing Jesus. This to me is a great example of faith.

Chapter 4 of First Peter has the title Living for God. This title is essentially what Christians should strive for-living and worshiping God in all our actions, thoughts, and deeds. A specific verse, verse 8 states that "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." This verse goes in hand with the two, equivalently most important commandments that God gave us. This verse can also relate to 1 Corinthians 13 when discussing what Love is. Love isn't always easy to show to those who disrespect us or do us wrong, but by loving them they cover sins, or wrong doings...it's like love heals everything....
